No, we don't have to sit in a circle, hold hands, share our deepest secrets, and talk about our feelings. But we do need to pay more attention to emotions- the emotions of our customers.

Emotional data is your most important asset and can also be your worst liability. It is not something to be left to the manager or website, or even worse, a call center to convey. Simply, if you have to TELL them you're great, your emotional data is LACKING.
It is a feeling. The feeling when they drive by, pull into the parking lot, walk into your office, or go on a tour to see a few show units.
Emotional data is the messaging intentionally (or not) built into everything from the signage and lighitng to the cleanliness and colors of the office. It gives the "just right feeling" or the "get me outta here" cringe.
Emotional data is what makes you an A+ facility able to charge premium rates, or the C- (or worse) facility racing to the bottom. It's time for self-storage to get emotional.
