Justin, how excited are you to get started and how many hours a week are you planning on spending looking for land to make your self-storage goals come true?
Justin: I'm eager to get off the ground and get closer to door opening. I plan to follow the best-practice advice and spend at least 5 hours a week on the land search.
What was the major reason you chose self-storage and decided to team up with Storage Authority?
Justin: I was debating between several different business concepts but ultimately decided that the low employee intensity and high fixed asset model was the best for me. While I have construction experience, I quickly realized that marketing and operational excellence was needed for storage to be profitable, so I decided to partner with the experts.
How did your impression of self-storage and franchising change from the beginning to the end of the Storage Authority Discovery Process?
Justin: As with most things business, the important part to me was developing a trust in the people and the process. My research into self-storage gave me confidence in the market and the discovery process gave me confidence in the people delivering on the franchise promise.
Do you have any recommendations to improve the Storage Authority discovery process?
Justin: What was most impressive to me was how Marc had done a quick market assessment and how responsive he was to questions. Garrett was very professional and organized. Some of the marketing collateral needs to be updated and formatting of some word documents and forms done more professionally.
Most Franchisee owners get started because self-storage can be the major catalyst for Wealth (Time & Money). Can you share one or two reasons or goals why you are willing to commit your time for a second income?
Justin: I am looking to create more flexibility in my work-life balance and planning to step back from my current job. I wanted a project that I felt I could manage while transitioning my current responsibilities and would offer time flexibility in the future. I'm looking forward to combining my construction and engineering background with Storage Authority's proven marketing and operational expertise to launch a successful next leg of my career.
