In this interview, they share their thoughts, aspirations, and reasons for choosing self-storage and partnering with Storage Authority.


🏁 Question 1: Are you excited to get started? And how many hours a week are you planning on spending looking for land to make your self-storage goals come true?


🎯 Answer:(David) Very excited. As many hours as I possibly can. I can definitely fit in 10-20 (although may be late at night).


Our franchise owners' passion and enthusiasm drive us forward, and we're thrilled to witness their dedication to making their self-storage goals a reality.


🏁 Question 2: What was the major reason you chose self-storage and teamed up with Storage Authority?


🎯 Answer: (David) This question has multiple parts, so apologies for the long response. I’ll try to summarize:

  1. Why Self Storage:

  • Financial and life freedom: Self-storage offers a path to financial independence and the freedom to shape one's life on their terms.

  • Becoming a commercial land developer and business operator: Our franchise owners value the opportunity to delve into commercial real estate and entrepreneurship simultaneously.

  • Unique wealth-building opportunities: Self-storage enables consistent refinancing and equity extraction, contributing to long-term wealth creation.

  • Streamlined business model: With fewer moving pieces, self-storage provides a manageable and efficient business venture.

  1. Why Storage Authority:

  • Hands-on help from the beginning: We take pride in providing extensive support during site selection and development stages.

  • Expertise and experience: Our founder, Marc, brings years of self-storage consulting and ownership experience, ensuring our franchise owners benefit from valuable insights.

🏁 Question 3: How did your impression of self-storage and franchising change from the beginning to the end of the Storage Authority Discovery Process?


🎯 Answer:(David) I was originally unaware of the return potential.

🏁 Question 4: Do you have any recommendations to improve the Storage Authority discovery process?


🎯 Answer(David)) : I think 2 things:

  1. Having more case studies to show the wealth creation is important up front.

  2. Providing more detail on how you will help franchisees search for land.

We value the feedback of our franchise owners, and we continuously refine our discovery process to provide even more valuable resources and guidance.


🏁 Question 5: Most Franchisee owners get started because self-storage can be the major catalyst for Wealth (Time & Money). Can you share one or two reasons or goals why you are willing to commit your time for a second income?


🎯 Answer: (David) I have large aspirations of leaving my job, having a great income stream, being able to refinance and pull cash out of the business, and ultimately creating a net worth north of $10M, which is my goal in the next 5 years (maybe ambitious).
